Job Description

Central Intake Systems Navigator:
Part-time, hourly, 30 hours/week. Full benefits.
Schedule:
9:30 to 4, Monday through Friday, 30 minute lunch break The Central Intake Systems Navigator is responsible for providing a single point of entry for New River Community Action (NRCA),to improve the accuracy and consistency of the screening, assessment, and referral process under the supervision of the Lead Central Intake Systems Navigator.
Job Description Requirements:
1. Implements the Whole Family Approach (Family-Centered Coaching) when working with all consumers of NRCA services. 2. Performs initial intake and assessment by phone or in person. 3. Completes qualification screenings for applicable programs. 4. Schedules initial appointments for consumers with appropriate staff. 5. Enters data into assigned agency database system(s) as assigned by supervisor. 6. Answers incoming calls and transfers to appropriate departments or programs, as needed. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Must have: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional customer service and phone courtesy skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of database systems Experience in conducting consumer intakes and informational interviews. Experience in conducting assessments with families and individuals. Critical thinking, problemsolving, and crisisresolution skills Knowledge of NRCA, FamilyCentered Coaching, and community resources. Must be friendly, positive, responsible, and capable of exercising good judgment. Approach to working with families and individuals that is empathic, nonjudgmental, respectful, and professional.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Associate degree in Human Services or a related field or two years of related experience in human services. NRCA conducts pre-employment criminal background checks and driving record checks. Possession of a valid driver's license and a good driving record is required. Pre-employment drug testing is also required.
