Islamic Center of Virginia Chesterfield, Virginia Now Hiring Youth & Community Spiritual Leader We are seeking a spiritually grounded, youth-friendly leader to help inspire, mentor, and strengthen our masjid community. Position Summary The Youth & Community Spiritual Leader will support youth, young adults, families, and the broader masjid community through Islamic reminders, mentoring, classes, programming, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead youth halaqas, discussions, activities, and mentorship programs.
- Build strong relationships with middle school, high school, college-age, and young adult members.
- Support families, converts, and community members seeking basic Islamic guidance.
- Assist with Ramadan, Eid, summer camp, family nights, and community programs.
- Lead prayers, reminders, talks, or khutbahs when qualified and approved.
- Work professionally with masjid leadership, volunteers, parents, and youth. Qualifications
- Strong Islamic character and commitment to serving the masjid community.
- Formal or ongoing Islamic studies preferred.
- Experience working with youth, families, teaching, mentoring, or community programs.
- Clear English communication and strong public speaking skills.
- Reliable, organized, approachable, and able to work with diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Background Experience as a youth director, assistant imam, khateeb, Islamic studies teacher, chaplain, mentor, or community organizer is preferred.
