Learning styles adaptability Education Working with students Email marketing software Safe environment creation Organizational skills Technical Proficiency Early Childhood Education Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Time management Full Job Description After-School Program Lead Teacher and Program Coordinator (Part Time) Position Summary Sterling Ballet's After School Program Coordinator/Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing after school activities for students, also providing enriching academics and group activities for students during after-school hours. This role is responsible for daily logistics, general admin responsibilities and ensuring a safe, nurturing and engaging environment. This role reports to the Studio Director.
Core Responsibilities Program Development:
Coordinate with the Studio Director to provide after school programming that meets academy guidelines Create and plan the monthly/weekly/daily class agendas and projects Prepare supplies for student's work and communicate when additional materials are needed Student Supervision Supervise students and all class activities Facilitate an environment that ensures physical safety and positive behavior management
Student and Parent Relations:
Act as the primary point of contact for parents and students Resolve parent and student concerns Provide a consistently warm, welcoming environment
Financials, Marketing & Admin:
Facilitate monthly tuition billing Maintain accurate records/attendance lists
Communications Management:
Engage in regular communication with parents about students' participation, progress and improvement Responsible for communicating necessary program updates via email to families Serve as primary contact to all elementary schools for after-school van shuttles Send daily communication to drivers and teachers for attendance updates Ensure necessary signage is posted as needed Required Skills and Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Education or Early Childhood Development preferred, 4 years of experience in youth development or as a lead educator with site coordinator experience
Communication & Organization:
Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks Excellent verbal and written skills for working with students, families and staff Understanding of various learning styles and challenges Demonstrates safety awareness, situational awareness and calmness under pressure Willingness to try new things Must work well with others and be an engaging member of the studio Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Constant Contact email program and Mindbody studio software Preferred Qualifications First Aid training and certification Preferred Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish)
Availability:
Must be available weekdays from 2:00-6:45 pm (or until the last student is picked up) Must be available to help with our annual recital in June (date TBD) Will need to come into the studio outside of normal after school hours to process monthly tuition billing (1st of every month) Responsible for closing the after school program daily (waiting until all students have been picked up) Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed. This position includes tuition benefits if you have a dancer at the studio.
