Job Description

Sibling Group Leader (2) - Temporary Summer Positions At Child Development Resources (CDR), we believe every child deserves a strong start. We are a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to providing high-quality, inclusive early childhood education that nurtures the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. CDR empowers children, families, and early childhood professionals to reach their full potential, regardless of the challenges they may face. We are pleased to announce two temporary Sibling Group Leader positions within our Children's Services programs. These summer roles work as a team under the guidance of CDR's Developmental Playgroup Coordinator. The sibling group is offered to children aged 3-8 years old who have younger siblings enrolled in CDR's Developmental Playgroup. This group is offered for 8-10 weeks during the summer to allow families to continue participation in the Developmental Playgroup for infants and toddlers, while older siblings are out of school for the summer. This summer an Art Therapy Intern will work side-by side with the Sibling Group Leaders so it will be a great learning opportunity. Child Development Resources (CDR), a private, non-profit agency, strives to inspire and empower children, families, and early childhood professionals to reach their full potential, whatever their challenges. What You Will Do Lead and facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate playgroup activities for children ages 3-8 Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development Work collaboratively with a co-leader and under the guidance of the Developmental Playgroup Coordinator Support children through structured and unstructured play, including indoor and outdoor activities Encourage positive peer interactions and model appropriate behavior Assist with daily routines, transitions, and group management Collaborate with an Art Therapy Intern and other team members to enhance the program experience Maintain a clean, organized, and safe play environment Communicate effectively with staff and support overall program operations What You Will Bring High school diploma or equivalent required (college students encouraged to apply) Experience working with children in a group setting preferred Interest in early childhood education, human services, or a related field Basic understanding of child development and family-centered practices Strong communication and teamwork skills Positive, energetic, and engaging approach to working with children Work Environment & Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and actively engage with children throughout the day Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds as needed Valid driver's license without restrictions Successful completion of background checks and required screenings CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 2 weeks of hire)
Position Details Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (20 hours/week); may work additional hours in other programs as needed
Duration:
8-10 week summer program
Compensation:
$15.00 per hour
