The YMCA focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. As a Child Watch Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and organizing age-appropriate activities for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years while parents are utilizing the YMCA facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support in planning part-time staff interviews and training. Assist in recruiting and supervising volunteers to assist with programming support. Plan and organize age-appropriate activities. Play actively with the children. Adapt activities to the needs of each. Monitor the health and socialization of children daily. Assist with maintaining cleanliness and order in the child watch area. Monitor the drop-off and pick-up of children to guarantee their safety while in our care. Greet parents and help children feel welcome. Communicate regarding their child's behavior. Monitor the day to day activities to maintain high quality operations to include safety, progress and fun Are you a good fit? Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent (preferred). One to two years of related experience as a coordinator of people or activities (preferred). Ability to use computer and typical business software and office machines. Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, and file maintenance. Positive attitude and previous experience with [preschool-aged children] and diverse populations. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred. Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required. Wage:
$20.06 to $21.32 per hour ( Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range )

Ensures a safe, caring, and fun learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years while parents are utilizing the YMCA facilities. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Key Responsibilities Provide support in planning part time staff interviews and trainings. Assist in recruiting and supervising volunteers to assist with programming support. Plan and organize age appropriate activities. Play actively with the children. Adapt activities to the needs of each. Monitor the health and socialization of children daily. Maintain physical and/or electronic filing systems for all relevant information. Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent preferred. One to two years related experience as a coordinator of people or activities preferred. Ability to use computer and typical business software and office machines.
