Accountability The Infant & Toddler Coordinator reports to and is accountable to the Children & Families Ministry Director Hours This job is a part-time hourly position, up to 5 hours per week. Qualifications Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and openness to the direction of the Holy Spirit. Educational background regarding early childhood phase development. Experience taking care of infants and toddlers, 6 - 36 months. Clear communicator with staff, parents, volunteers, and children. Experience with volunteer management or willingness to learn. Understanding of safety and security issues related to working with young children. Responsibilities Learn and support the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of young children and their families. Engage parents and caregivers on the difficulties and joys of having children at home. Be prepared to share academic and faith resources that support young families. Intentionally and strategically recruit, train, support, schedule, and appreciate volunteer caregivers. There are two weekly Sunday morning services September through June, one service in the summer months. Be a known, welcoming, and kind face to the children, parents, and volunteer caregivers. Provide a steady leadership presence on Sunday mornings by supporting volunteers, connecting with families, and ensuring rooms are well-staffed and resourced. Answer questions about the room, ministry, and the church. On Sundays you are away, find a replacement for this leadership responsibility. Maintain safe, clean, age-appropriate, and well-equipped nursery and toddler rooms. Purchase snacks, materials, books, and cleaner as needed. Develop, refine, and reinforce procedures and policies on safety, use of space, nurturing young children, and efficient check-in processes for families. Relationships The Infant & Toddler Coordinator is accountable to the Children & Families Ministry Director in the performance of their responsibilities. The Infant & Toddler Coordinator works directly with all caregivers, parents, and children. Evaluation The Children & Families Ministry Director will conduct performance reviews annually.
