We achieve this exciting mission as an independent school serving 6th - 12th grades located in an urban, Seattle environment. We are seeking a Middle School Student Coordinator to join us! Our coordinator team is integral to our guiding principle to" Know the Kid" as they provide support to students, faculty, administration, and parents as students navigate through their experience at Seattle Academy. Coordinators support the safety and well-being of our students through an understanding of their social, emotional, and behavioral characteristics as they move throughout their day. This is a full-time faculty position with the coordinator teaching 1-2 classes as necessary and serve as an advisor. This team member will join other coordinators in planning, organizing, and implementing trips, retreats and grade-level activities; supervise students during classroom transition times like lunch, breaks, & before/after school as well as substitute for faculty in their absence. Key Responsibilities for the person in this position include: Event Planning & Community Building:
Partner with the Grade Level Dean and other coordinators on student life activities, including student orientation, Fall and Spring retreats, off-campus outings, dances, grade-level activities, and service projects. Student Support & Supervision:
Partner with the Grade Level Dean, faculty, staff, and other school personnel to address student conflicts and low-level disciplinary matters; track student tardies and absences; and identify patterns of concern, supervision of students in classrooms, shared spaces, study hall, and during off-campus activities. Proctor tests as needed for students. Collaboration & Meetings:
Participate in Middle School evening parent meetings in partnership with the Middle School Division team; meet weekly with the Grade Level Dean, counselors, and team leads to discuss students of concern and develop action plans. Host class meetings focused on student engagement and class camaraderie. Promote and uphold the school's core values, guiding students to align their actions with those values. Other duties as assigned. Successful candidates are required to have a Bachelor's Degree, experience working in an educational environment, qualifications to teach classes as assigned. HOW TO APPLY
