UPPC is seeking a dynamic, creative, and faith-filled leader to serve as our Coordinator of Middle School Ministry. This role is dedicated to walking alongside students in grades 5-7, creating environments where they can authentically experience God, deepen their faith, and grow as disciples. What You'll Do UPPC is invested in growing an authentic, loving, grace-filled, inclusive community for our youth in grades 5-7. You will learn to recruit and train leaders, leading by example. You will teach grades 5-7 the ways of Jesus through scripture and discipleship, while showing the relevance of the Gospel in their own faith journeys and culture.
Responsibilities include:
Leading the Wednesday Youth Group Attend and assist in leading camps/events for grades 5-7 Meeting one-on-one with students Attend staff meetings Assist with social media posts and newsletter Weekly small group connections Exploring what the creation of the Youth Worship Band might look like Partner with
Families & Schools:
Build meaningful relationships between the church, home, and local schools. By showing up in the community and events, you will become a familiar and trusted leader. Foster a
Culture of Hospitality:
Ensure that every middle schooler who walks through the youth room doors feels seen, valued, and loved. Why This Role Matters Middle school is a pivotal season of identity and faith formation. Every student is at a unique point in their spiritual journey. Through thoughtful teaching, small groups, and shared experiences, you will ensure that every 5th-7th grader knows they belong, understands they are loved, and is given the tools to grow as a disciple of Christ. What We're Looking For We are seeking a highly relational leader, energetic communicator, and organized administrator. The ideal candidate pairs a vibrant passion for youth ministry with structural excellence and a natural ability to mentor and uplift volunteer leaders. 20 hours a week, $19/ hr.
Work schedule:
M - Th. + events/camps
Preferred Qualifications Education:
Associates degree; Bachelor's degree in Ministry/Theology, Education, or a related field (preferred); or equivalent level of work experience.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in student ministry, educational leadership, or youth program management.
Knowledge, Skills, & Key Characteristics Biblical Communication:
A skilled teacher capable of conveying biblical truths in a way that is both exegetically faithful and deeply relevant to 5th-7th grade culture.
Leadership Development:
Experience in leading and caring for students and their families, while setting tangible goals to improve leadership skills
Relational Strength:
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and genuine connections with middle schoolers, parents, and ministry partners.
Strategic Thinking:
The ability to bring organizational structure, clear planning, and creative problem-solving to a fast-paced ministry environment.
Discipleship & Mentorship:
A deep longing for faith formation in students and leaders that goes above and beyond knowing their names.
Flexibility & Presence:
An adaptable spirit, ready to engage in the life of the church during evening programming, weekends, and seasonal retreats. A strong background in teaching and leadership within a youth ministry context. Demonstrated experience planning events, retreats, trips, and service projects.
