Position Summary:
Do you enjoy building meaningful relationships with children and families? Are you passionate about helping families achieve their goals and connect with resources that support their success? Join our team as a Family Advocate and make a lasting impact in the lives of children and families enrolled in our Head Start and ECEAP programs. In this role you will serve as a trusted partner and advocate for families, helping them identify strengths, set goals, navigate community resources, and access services that support their well-being. Through relationship building, collaboration, and individualized support, you will empower families to overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes for themselves and their children.
Compensation and Schedule:
This role is scheduled for 40 hours per week during the school year. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with occasional evening/weekend family events. This benefitted position has an hourly wage ranging from $21.94 - 22.93 per hour based on qualifications.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Home Visitor CDA; or ability to complete Home Visitor CDA within 18 months of hire. Associate's degree or higher in Social Work, Human Development, or related field.
Preferred Experience:
Experience providing case management, advocacy, family support, or social services to children and families Experience working with families from varying backgrounds. Knowledge of community resources and support services A training plan may be considered depending on qualifications. Bilingual highly desired
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners. Provide individualized family support through goal setting, advocacy, and case management services. Connect families with community resources and services based on their unique needs and circumstances Advocate on behalf of families with community agencies and service providers Coordinate and facilitate parent trainings, family events, and engagement opportunities. Monitor and support children's health requirements in accordance with Head Start and ECEAP standards Participate in classroom activities to build relationships with children and families on assigned caseloads.
Ability to:
Establish trusting relationships with families from various backgrounds Utilize strength-based practices and Motivational Interviewing techniques. Collaborate effectively with families, staff, community partners and service agencies. Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate documentation and follow-through Maintain confidentiality of records and sensitive information Interviews to begin as soon a qualified pool of applicants is received Educational Opportunities for Children and Families (EOCF) is an EEOC compliant employer.
