PM Professional and Educational Qualifications:
A 4-year degree in human services, psychology, education, social work or related field preferred. Comparable professional experience will be considered. Minimum 2 years experience working with middle and high school aged youth; experience working with diverse populations & youth who are considered to be underserved highly desired. A valid driver's license and insurance is required. A satisfactory background check will be conducted before an offer is confirmed.
Personal Characteristics:
Caring, creativity, flexibility, enthusiasm, patience, commitment, and organization are necessary to succeed in this position. Ability to establish good boundaries and be a positive role model is vital. Excellent relationship building and communication skills are critical to this role. Building a strong and positive relationship with the youth is the foundational goal of this role.
Position information:
This part time position will have flexible hours with a general schedule including daytime and evening hours. Regularly scheduled hours will be between 22-26 hours per week. The selected candidate will set their regular schedule with the Executive Director and it will include 1-2 evenings per week. Benefits for this position include vacation and holiday pay. The expected starting hourly wage for this position will be $16.00-$18.00 per hour. Duties of the Role Early Intervention Mentoring is a community-based mentoring program for Winnebago County referred youth. Mentors provide (reimbursed) transportation of youth for all activities.
Typical Duties Include:
Develop and facilitate interactive activities for students in grades 5-12. Activities are designed to meet individual needs and may include sports and fitness, recreation, health/personal wellness, creative arts, life skills and volunteering.

Provide academic tutoring in all subjects, both at the youth center and school-based sites. Tracking and reporting activities and communication with social workers. Bridges is an intervention program for students meeting the criteria for habitual truancy within Winnebago County. Bridges mentors meet with students at school during the school year and in the community during the summer months much like the Early Intervention Mentor role.
Typical Duties Include:
Meet with Winnebago county social workers to gather/exchange information on students and service needs. Participate in family, school and team meetings to identify root cause issues and develop support plans for families in an effort to reduce truancy. Meet students 1 or more times weekly to discuss family, peer, and other life issues with students. Provide positive listening and appropriate feedback as needed. Provide academic tutoring to each student, to assist them in completing missed assignments and filling in "gaps" in knowledge due to truancy. Take daily case notes on interactions with each student and turn in "daily log" of appointments and activities to Youth Go and Winnebago County. Youth Early Intervention Mentor (ONE position) Early Intervention Mentoring is a community-based mentoring program for Winnebago County referred youth. Mentors provide (reimbursed) transportation of youth for all activities.

This part time position will have flexible evening hours. Regularly scheduled hours will be between 12-15 hours per week. The selected candidate will set their regular schedule with the Executive Director and it will include 2-3 evenings per week. This is a non-benefited position. The expected starting hourly wage for this position will be $15.00-$17.00 per hour.

Develop and facilitate interactive activities for students in grades 5-12. Activities are designed to meet individual needs and may include sports and fitness, recreation, health/personal wellness, creative arts, life skills and volunteering.
