Job Description

Private practice in Pasadena is seeking a motivated Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Social Worker (ASW), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) with fewer than 1500 hours toward licensure for a position seeing 22-26 clients/week. This job is an excellent opportunity for an associate to serve clients in need while learning about how to build and operate a private practice. The successful candidate will receive quality weekly supervision and mentoring in their journey to full licensure. Timely note taking and treatment planning including diagnosing clients is emphasized and training on proper methods will be provided. This is a hybrid position where the associate will be expected to see clients in our offices in Pasadena 1-2 days a week as well as via Telehealth remotely. The ideal candidate for this position should be:
  • Experienced performing therapy in a clinical setting
  • Driven, independent and interested in working in a private practice
  • In posession of an Associate's Number with the BBS or planning/have already submitted their paperwork to the BBS for validation
  • Eager to market themselves using a variety of methods such as developing and maintaining a website and posting on therapist finder services such as Psychology Today
  • Understanding of the expectation to build and maintain a caseload of 22-26 clients/week
  • Wanting to work with individuals, children and couples
  • Organized in their scheduling of clients and respectful of the client's time
  • Able to complete treatment plans and progress notes in a timely manner
  • Comfortable working within the guidelines of insurance requirements including diagnosing clients, progress notes and treatment planning
  • Collaborative and open to feedback from supervisors and fellow associates
  • Culturally sensitive
  • Accepting and open to seeing all clients, including those who have Medi-Cal and commercial insurance
  • Flexible with scheduling clients and supervision, occasionally on evenings and/or the weekend as well as willing to see clients both in person and remotely via Telehealth
  • Ethical in their interactions with clients
  • Willing to follow all California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and other legal regulations
  • Bilingual with enough language fluency to be able to conduct therapy sessions in a language other than English (preferred)
  • EMDR trained (preferred)
SALARY:
The successful applicant will be paid $55/hour for clinical hours worked. Associates with Mindful Pasadena Counseling are also paid $18.57/hour for supervision that the associate attends as well as administrative hours worked with supervisor approval If interested, please submit a resume/C.V. and a cover letter addressing the reasons and motivations for the applicant's desire to become a therapist and how this position aligns with their short and long-term goals.
