Licensed Clinical Social Worker Petersburg, VA 23803 Hybrid work $35.87 - $45.50 an hour - Part-time, Contract $35.87 - $45.50 an hour - Part-time, Contract Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in a children's group home to act as the lead mental health clinician, providing specialized trauma-informed therapy, clinical oversight, and behavioral intervention. LCSW will evaluate resident needs, develop treatment plans, and support staff to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment
Responsibilities Psychotherapy & Counseling:
Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based modalities (e.g., TF-CBT, DBT, Play Therapy) to help residents process trauma, grief, and behavioral challenges.
Clinical Assessments & Treatment Planning:
Perform comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations to develop and regularly update individualized treatment and behavior management plans for each resident.
Staff Consultation & Training:
Provide clinical guidance to frontline youth care workers and group home staff to help them manage challenging behaviors and implement de-escalation techniques.
Crisis Intervention:
Respond to immediate mental health crises or behavioral escalations, facilitating immediate safety planning and coordinating higher levels of care if necessary
Care Coordination:
Act as a liaison between the group home, biological families, schools, courts, and external psychiatric or medical providers to ensure holistic continuity of care.
Compliance & Documentation:
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation, progress notes, and reports in compliance with HIPAA, state licensing regulations, and agency standards.
Discharge Planning:
Develop transition and aftercare plans to prepare residents for returning home, foster care, or independent living.
Experience Education & Licensure:
A Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) and an active, independent Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential valid in
Virginia Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience, specifically working with at-risk youth, abused/neglected children, or in residential treatment facilities.
Clinical Skills:
Deep knowledge of child/adolescent development, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care.
Clearances:
