Every day, you will conduct psychosocial assessments, develop care plans, provide counseling and crisis intervention, and connect clients to resources. You'll advocate for clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support and promote well-being. To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, strong knowledge of community resources, and proven crisis management abilities, fostering positive change and client empowerment. He/She provides clinical counseling to patients and families and conducts support groups. He/She provides coordination and delivery of psychosocial services to patients and families throughout the cancer continuum, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, end of life and bereavement. He/She provides psychosocial services designed to foster coping, support optimal functioning and maximize the patient's utilization of available resources. The Clinical Social Worker serves as an integral part of the Support Services Team, linking the patient with resources necessary to meet complex needs related to cancer care. The Clinical Social Worker assists patients and their families in accessing financial, pharmaceutical and transportation assistance programs. The Clinical Social Worker collaborates with the Support Services Team in expanding holistic services, including integrative approaches to cancer care.
