Back Psychiatric Therapist - 1st shift - Full-time Marshall Medical Centers Guntersville, AL, United States Apr 13, 2026 Job Description Responsible for conducting mental health assessments, triage, short-term counseling, referral and follow-up for Medical Centers Behavioral Health. Incorporates knowledge and expertise in identifying employee's needs and then participates with other departments to implement classes and programs which promote employee's health and well-being. Provides mental health assessments, triage, short-term counseling, referral and follow-up for clients through Medical Centers Behavioral Health. Provides therapeutic environment for clients and ensures confidentiality. Completes clinical documentation for all activities. Provides information on internal and external programs and resources to clients, including telephone inquiries. Prepare and present educational classes on related subjects as needed. Education Required MA or MS in mental health related field from an accredited college or university required. Education Preferred License, Certification and/or Registration Alabama license or certification eligible in field of specialty within 1 year of hire. Experience Minimum of two years experience in mental health related field involving group and individual therapy preferred. Additional Skills/Abilities Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Excellent communication skills necessary with the ability to handle difficult interpersonal situations. • Must be able to develop classes and present in classroom or group setting.
