Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate, licensed Head of Service to lead our specialized service team within a Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). This pivotal role involves overseeing the delivery of high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, and complex medical conditions. HOS ensures coordination of care and flexibility of services. This position oversees all clinical activities and works with the case management, rehabilitation, and medical staff in the provision of comprehensive service delivery. The Head of Service (HOS) is responsible for ensuring that youth in the STRTP have a mental health assessment; are receiving appropriate mental health treatment services; services are documented; reports are completed timely based on agency policy; documentation and recordkeeping requirements are met; and that each child in STRTP has commonality of needs with other placed clients. This position oversees clinical activities and requires collaboration with therapist. Rehabilitation and medical staff in the provision of comprehensive service delivery. Duties Conducts individual assessments, gathering information from the client, caregivers, birth parents, county social workers, and probation officers, etc. Formulates, implements, and evaluates client care and coordination plans. Provides crisis intervention Establishes positive, nurturing relationships with clients within professional boundaries and in accordance with agency policies. Attends County and State meetings, team meeting, case conference, staff meetings, school meetings and trainings. Meets weekly with supervisor concerning client and program issues. Maintains thorough documentation including, but not limited to, intake documentation progress notes/reports and discharge summaries in compliance with the with the standards set by EBHS Policies and Procedures and in accordance with State of California standards for Medi-Cal EPSDT and other funding sources. Completes progress notes within 48 hours of service delivery. Work hours that are determined by the needs of client. Must be available for on call emergencies. Participates in the on-call duty, providing crisis intervention support to clients and their caregivers. Meets required productivity requirements. Participates in agency/program performance and quality improvements projects. Adheres to agency safety protocols. Skills Proven management experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong background in program development, especially within social work or behavioral health settings. Extensive experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs. Excellent relationship management skills to foster trust among clients, families, staff, and community partners. Solid administrative experience including budgeting, documentation, compliance monitoring, and reporting. Supervisory experience demonstrating ability to motivate staff and promote professional growth. Knowledge of social work principles combined with expertise in behavioral health interventions. Requirements Licensed:
LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC. Master's Degree One year experience in comparable behavioral health agency. Valid California Driver's License and an insurable driving record. Criminal record and health clearance. Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and oral communications skills. Must work well under time constraints and deadlines and have flexibility to function in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated experience working with an ethically, culturally, and racially diverse client populations. Physical Skills and Capabilities
  • Must have the visual, physical, and technical ability to independently operate a variety of office equipment including the use of a computer.
  • Must be capable of bending, stooping, filing, lifting of at least 25lbs and able to interrupt physical altercations.
  • Must have the ability to verbally communicate with others.
  • Organizational Relationships/Interactions
  • Interfaces with all levels of management, staff, clients, and families including other programs and partner agencies.
Desired Qualifications 1. Prior supervisory experience preferred. 2. Managerial experience in culturally diverse workplace. 3. Crisis Intervention training.
