CIFHS is a private, non-profit mental health agency delivering high-quality, comprehensive, integrated primary and behavioral health services to the community through evidence-based practices and collaborative partnerships throughout the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles County. The agency's mission is to promote the optimal emotional and physical well-being of adults, families, and children/youth through compassionate, knowledgeable, and respectful services that encourage personal growth and development, foster healing, and provide opportunities for positive change. Services are available to all individuals, particularly those who face financial, physical, social, and psychological barriers to accessing care. CIFHS provides community-based mental health treatment and support services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Services are delivered in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinic locations, schools, and other community-based environments. Utilizing evidence-based and culturally responsive practices, clinicians provide individual, family, and group therapy, care coordination, crisis intervention, rehabilitation services, and collaborative treatment planning designed to support recovery, resilience, emotional wellness, and improved functioning across all areas of life.
POSITION
CLINICAL TITLE:
LICENSED OR REGISTERED THERAPIST JOB DESCRIPTION
The Registered or Licensed Therapist reports to the CEO and the Director of Mental Health Services & School Programs and provides behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families in clinic, school-based, and community settings. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, providing individual, family, and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, and maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency, county, state and licensing requirements. The Therapist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, schools, healthcare providers, and community partners to coordinate care, support client treatment goals, and promote positive clinical outcomes.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and uphold the agency's mission, vision, values, and service objectives. Provide high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that address identified client needs and goals. Provide individual, family, group, and crisis intervention services in accordance with clinical best practices. Monitor client progress and evaluate treatment effectiveness, making appropriate modifications to interventions as needed. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with agency, county, state and licensing requirements. Ensure adherence to ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable to federal, state, and local regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, including administration, intake, psychiatry, case management, and other service providers to ensure coordinated and effective care. Provide case management, care coordination, and client advocacy services to support access to necessary resources and services. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to support client treatment and community-based service delivery. Participate in outreach, prevention, and educational activities as assigned. Attend and actively participate in supervision, staff meetings, case consultations, trainings, and other required agency meetings. Maintain current knowledge of behavioral health best practices, evidence-based interventions, and applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards. Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment through effective communication and teamwork. Assist agency leadership with special projects, program initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution. Current California licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist, or active registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC) working toward licensure. Knowledge of behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Demonstrated ability to complete accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required records in accordance with agency, county, state and licensing standards. Strong clinical judgment, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards in accordance with applicable licensing requirements.
