Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic educational team as an Associate Therapist for the upcoming school year, dedicated to fostering mental health and behavioral well-being among students. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive therapeutic services tailored to children and adolescents, supporting their emotional growth and academic success. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative school environment, utilizing your expertise in mental health counseling, behavioral therapy, and case management to promote positive outcomes for students with diverse needs. Schedule ✅ 40 hours per week ✅ Monday-Friday schedule ✅ No weekends required Responsibilities Conduct individual and group therapy sessions focused on behavioral health, social work, and mental health counseling to support students' emotional and developmental needs. Perform diagnostic evaluations and patient assessments to identify mental health conditions such as PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis intervention strategies. Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management techniques, crisis intervention, and conflict management to ensure student safety and well-being. Collaborate with teachers, parents, case managers, and school staff to coordinate care plans, conduct case management activities, and facilitate communication regarding student progress. Maintain accurate medical documentation, medical records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and privacy. Utilize data collection methods to monitor progress, adjust treatment strategies as needed, and document outcomes in accordance with school policies and best practices. Qualifications Active registration as AMFT or ACSW in [State] Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, or related field Ability to work under licensed clinical supervision Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to manage a caseload and meet documentation deadlines Experience with diverse populations preferred Skills Proven experience in crisis intervention, crisis management, and conflict resolution within educational or behavioral health settings. Strong background in addiction counseling, behavioral therapy, child & family counseling, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays. Expertise in group therapy facilitation and working with children with autism or other special education needs. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and HIPAA compliance requirements. Skilled in patient care, patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and case management techniques tailored to youth populations. Proficient in applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care approaches such as PTSD care. Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams while managing sensitive information discreetly. Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively through conflict management skills while maintaining a positive therapeutic environment.
