First Steps Recovery is designed to serve the needs of people from all walks of life. Our facility is accredited by the Joint Commission, certified by LegitScript, and is a licensed DHCS residential facility for detox. We offer residential rehab, medical detox, PHP, IOP, and a special online version of our PHP and IOP programs.   • PTO Program Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Therapist to join our team, either fully licensed or an associate.
The ideal candidate will provide high-quality therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups, focusing on mental health and emotional well-being. This role involves working with diverse populations, including those with addiction issues, developmental disabilities, and geriatric patients. The Clinical Therapist will utilize evidence-based practices to assess client needs and develop tailored treatment plans. This position is located at our new residential treatment center in Newcastle, CA. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and emotional needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings. Provide therapy sessions in various settings, including outpatient clinics and hospitals. Utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, including addiction counseling and child family counseling. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ICD-9 standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and support services. Engage in direct support for clients with developmental disabilities and special education needs. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes. Provide crisis intervention as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of clients. Skills Strong knowledge of addiction counseling techniques and practices. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on empathy and active listening. Strong direct support skills for working closely with clients in various settings. Ability to thrive in the inpatient, residential environments and outpatient settings, adapting to the unique challenges of each. Complete admissions agreements and consents for outpatient treatment. Complete the Biopsychosocial Assessment (BPS) and SRA. Complete weekly individual therapy notes within the required timeline. Develop and update client "Safety Plans." Document "Running Notes" and "Clinical Admin Notes" as needed. Develop initial treatment plans. Create and update weekly treatment plans.
Education:
Candidate must have a Master's Degree in counseling or psychology from an accredited graduate school, current state license and/or certification.
Experience:
1-2 years experience in the field of addiction and mental health or equivalent human services work experience preferred. Experience in co-occurring disorders treatment a plus
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in EMR systems
Client Management Software Certificates & Licenses:
