Job Description

We are seeking to fill a Full-Time Residential Counselor position.
General Summary:
The Residential Counselor fulfills the assigned role as part of the treatment team - to maintain the wellbeing of clients and the integrity of the program. Additionally, the Residential Counselor provides client supervision and staff/unit support as assigned.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain appropriate professional relationships with clients and staff
  • Supervise U/A testing, reporting and documentation
  • Supports clients emotionally and environmentally for comfort and safety
  • Facilitate outings, and educational sessions
  • Transport clients to meetings and appointments
  • Conduct contraband searches and random room searches
  • Listens, documents, and reports client behavior
  • Maintains confidentiality of clients at all time
  • Provides encouragement, guidance and support to clients and family members
  • Completes required intake paperwork
  • Provides crisis intervention and encourages a healthy residential and working environment
  • Communicates and collaborates with co-workers, clinical staff, and administration in order to deliver the best quality care possible.
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • CPR & First Aid certification
  • Current RADT registration or equivalent
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Must be able to pass Background Check
  • Negative TB Test
  • Must understand therapeutic process, confidentiality laws, professional ethics, fundamentals of addiction, and mental health disabilities and treatment
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays if needed
