Job Description

Clinician I Changing Options is a 24-hour Transitional Residential Treatment Program in Ramona that assists individuals with severe mental illness and dual diagnosis to move towards independent living and recovery. Changing Options provides psychiatric care, medication management, individual and group therapy, vocational assistance and peer support. As a Clinician, you will be reporting directly to the Program Director while coordinating with the Direct Care Staff, the Consulting Psychologist and Psychiatrist, and other clinical staff. This is a very demanding and rewarding position which requires autonomy and team work, flexibility and dedication. Supervision for license is available. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Conduct behavioral health assessments of new clients.
  • Individual, group, family and milieu counseling and provide psychosocial behavior health services.
  • Case management and assist clients with discharge planning and care coordination.
  • Treatment planning and coordination with various providers in the region to facilitate access to services.
  • Documentation and reporting.
  • Telephonic on-call response for crisis.
  • Provide clinical direction to direct care staff.
  • Crisis intervention and risk assessment. Intervene in crisis when needed at the program to ensure the safety of clients and staff.
  • Weekends and on-call required.
This is a Full-time 40-hour per week position or Part-time position depending on experience.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work, psychology or a related field. Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or waivered Psychologist with the California Board of Psychology required. 2 years of experience working with adults with mental illness is strongly preferred. First Aid/CPR certification is required; can be obtained prior to starting work. Valid CA Driver's License in good standing. A physical exam and TB test Ability to pass criminal/background clearance Excellent benefit package which includes:
