Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) to join our team, working Wednesday through Sunday. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive addiction counseling and behavioral health services to diverse client populations. Your expertise will help guide individuals through recovery, utilizing evidence-based practices and compassionate care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine individual needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based techniques. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure client safety during acute episodes or emergencies. Implement addiction counseling strategies, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), substance use disorder treatment, and relapse prevention. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and HIPAA-compliant records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management, discharge planning, and coordination of home and community care services. Utilize research data collection methods, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical terminology to support clinical documentation and quality improvement initiatives. Experience Proven experience in behavioral health or mental health counseling within hospital or community settings. Strong background in addiction medicine, substance use disorder treatment, PTSD care, and crisis intervention techniques. Familiarity with social work principles, case management processes, and patient care protocols. Knowledge of medical records management, ICD coding systems, HIPAA regulations, and medical documentation standards. Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 codes and applying behavioral management strategies in diverse populations. Prior work involving home & community care environments is highly desirable. Certification as a CADC with demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, child & family counseling, group therapy, and behavioral health interventions is essential for success in this role.
