School Counselor - San Francisco, CA Sunbelt Staffing - 3.8 San Francisco, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract $30 - $60 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Working with individuals with mental health conditions Full Job Description Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into an impactful role supporting students' mental health needs across a diverse, dynamic district near San Francisco, CA. This full-time contract opportunity offers 35 hours per week, serving multiple locations throughout the district as a dedicated ERMHS (Educationally Related Mental Health Services) professional. You'll work itinerantly with students ranging from early childhood through transition years, providing essential mental health services that foster student wellbeing and academic success.
Key Qualifications:
Valid California licensure as LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW (in accordance with Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements) Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, psychology, or related field 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience and successful completion of required California exams Registration as an AMFT, APCC, or ASW if still accruing experience hours Familiarity with California school-based mental health standards Clear background and fingerprinting via Live Scan Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills Experience supporting diverse student populations is highly desiredDuties Include:
Delivering direct counseling and mental health services districtwide across an itinerant caseload Conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans for students Collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary staff to ensure comprehensive care Maintaining accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to the development of supportive educational programs Advocating for student needs and providing crisis intervention when necessary This role is strictly on-site for the full 2026-2027 school year, with 10 positions available.
