In this role, you will provide compassionate, peer-led support to individuals navigating behavioral health challenges, including mental health and substance use issues. Your energetic and motivating approach will empower clients to achieve their recovery goals, fostering hope and resilience every step of the way. This position includes facilitating peer recovery groups, conducting community outreach, and building meaningful connections with individuals in various stages of recovery. You will play an active role in creating supportive environments through group engagement, resource navigation, recovery education, and outreach efforts designed to connect underserved individuals with behavioral health and recovery support services. Duties Offer peer-led support by sharing lived experience insights to inspire hope and motivate clients on their recovery path Facilitate peer recovery groups focused on life skills, relapse prevention, emotional wellness, coping strategies, communication skills, and recovery education Conduct community outreach activities to connect individuals and families with recovery resources, behavioral health services, housing assistance, and support systems Build positive relationships within the community through outreach events, recovery meetings, workshops, and collaborative partnerships Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to stabilize individuals experiencing acute behavioral health episodes Develop personalized recovery plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to foster engagement Assist clients in navigating behavioral health and addiction counseling services, ensuring they access appropriate resources Document interactions, group participation, outreach activities, and client progress accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while maintaining confidentiality and compliance Mentor clients through skill-building activities that promote independence, social integration, healthy coping skills, and mental wellness Provide transportation coordination, advocacy, and support during appointments, community integration activities, and recovery-related services when appropriate Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and provide consistent, client-centered support Encourage community involvement, peer connection, and participation in pro-social recovery activities that strengthen long-term stability and wellness Requirements Proven experience or training in crisis intervention and crisis management within behavioral health settings Strong understanding of mental health counseling, addiction counseling, peer support services, and social work principles Experience facilitating peer support groups, life skills groups, or recovery-oriented group sessions preferred Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and empower individuals facing recovery challenges Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques to facilitate meaningful client engagement Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes Knowledge of behavioral health issues, including substance use disorders and mental health conditions Strong communication and outreach skills with the ability to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and clear communication Join us as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist and help transform lives through energetic support, expert guidance, community outreach, and unwavering encouragement.
