What You'll Do Serve as a youth mentor and behavioral coach , guiding students through challenging situations and helping them develop self-regulation and pro-social skills Supervise students in the school setting, model appropriate behaviors, and promote positive development Use crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, behavior management strategies , clear boundaries, and structured routines to keep the environment safe and supportive Document behaviors, communicate with the team, and help implement behavior plans Support teachers while taking active responsibility for student engagement and behavior outcomes Responsible for working with youth who have emotional and behavioral issues resulting from trauma and neglect, and who display verbal and physical aggression You'll have the opportunity to intervene, guide, and influence student outcomes daily. Your actions will help youth grow, while your skills and judgment are valued and developed through ongoing training and mentorship.Why Work Here Compensation:
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $22.00-$24.50 per hour . Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law.Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:00 pm; occasional hours outside this may be requiredBenefits:

Learn from experienced staff and grow your behavioral coaching skills Who Succeeds in This Role Stays calm under stress and has strong emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills Builds trusting relationships with students and the team using trauma-informed and culturally responsive communication Maintains firm but respectful boundaries Enjoys mentoring youth who struggle in traditional settings who may have behavioral disorders, emotional disturbances, trauma histories, or mental health needs Has hands-on experience working with youth in education, behavioral health, recreation, mentoring, or similar rolesRequirements:
Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in health/human services/education-related field Must have experience working with youth Must be at least 23 years of age Must have a valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one with a clean motor vehicle record Must be willing to pass FBI fingerprint & child abuse database background checks Applicants must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening as a condition of employment, in accordance with Colorado Department of Human Services regulations for child care facilities. This screening includes state criminal background checks, fingerprinting, sex offender registry searches, and abuse and neglect clearances. If the applicant has lived in any other state within the past five years, equivalent background and abuse/neglect checks from those states will also be conducted. In addition, all direct care applicants are required to complete a health evaluation or physical prior to beginning service to confirm they are fit for duty. Experience as a teacher assistant, behavioral tech, coach, or youth mentor is a plus, but not required Become part of a team that empowers students and grows staff.
