PRN is now expanding to work with local Colorado families to provide needed services on a daily basis by adding a Day Treatment Program. Together, we serve as a dedicated team of licensed counselors, teachers, paraprofessional and support staff.
Position Purpose:
The Therapist provides clinical services to the youth and families at PRN For Families. He or she will provide assessments, direct clinical services, and assist with case management and disposition planning for their caseload. They are under the direct supervision of a Clinical Director.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Facilitates and maintains the safety and security of the students, staff, and community.
  • Meets with all assigned new students, conduct clinical interviews and set up initial staffing in order to develop treatment plans for each individual.
  • Maintains caseload as assigned by Clinical Director by overseeing the implementation and review of all treatment services provided to each student in his/her care.
  • Conducts individual (minimum of 1 time per week), family (one time per week), and group therapy (minimum of two groups per week).
  • Will maximize medically authorized services with clients and their families in accordance with the treatment plan.
  • Works with the referring agency and/or funding source, community contacts, family, legal system, and other professionals involved in the student's treatment plan.
  • Maintains timely documentation of progress notes in the EMR with admission paperwork, and monthly reports to provide all necessary information related to care of the individual client as well as for the purpose of billing in a timely and professional manner. This includes both electronic and written communication.
  • Follows all PRN for Families policies and procedures in order to maintain the highest standards and provide the best level of care to students.
  • Operates within the scope of their respective license and comply with all regulations regarding their respective license.
  • Complies with managed care standards regarding regular utilization review of all assigned cases in order to meet all licensing requirements for treatment of adolescent populations.
  • Regularly attends all staffing's in order to facilitate communication and effective client management.
  • Attends mandatory trainings in order to maintain compliance with training standards and ensure effective treatment.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision, as well as weekly team meetings in order to provide leadership and clinical expertise to staff working with students.
Represents PRN For Families in communications with referral sources, other professionals, organizations, and programs managing those contacts with diplomacy, respect, dignity, and professional behavior in order to enhance the program's mission with regard to the surrounding communities. Maintains good communication with treatment team members and Clinical Director in order to receive and provide professional support and proactive problem-solving strategies.
  • Refrains from dual relationships with students and their families as defined by PRN For Families policies in order to maintain professional boundaries. Maintains a culturally and socioeconomically sensitive environment for students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or the Education Director.
Program Requirements:
  • Two (2) professional written references verifying your character and suitability to work with children to be filed in the personnel file.
  • Physical Exam to be performed during the six-month period preceding employment by the center.
  • CBI criminal check must be submitted to the CBI within 5 working days of starting work. To be renewed every 5 years.
  • State TRAILS check for child abuse and neglect background checks. Request must be made with 10 calendar days of the first day of employment. To be renewed every 5 years.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance required.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this ob. The job is considered sedentary work with most of the job duties performed while sitting. In addition, the employee is regularly required to type, write, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Master's degree in a mental health field.
  • At least two years' experience providing clinical services, preferably to adolescents.
  • Demonstrated clinical and leadership skills. A high degree of maturity, social skills, written and verbal communication, and clinical judgment. Ability to relate successfully to a wide variety of professional and lay persons. Ability to think conceptually and to deal decisively with practical matters and crisis situations.
  • Clinical license required with
LPC, LCSW
