Job Description

Grief is one of the most naturally painful experiences we have as humans. As a Grief Counselor, you will find more than a job. HopeWest is the only program of it's kind on the Western Slope, and one of the most innovative and respected programs in the country. SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Grief Counselor is responsible for providing counseling, education and support to bereaved clients who are coping with serious illness and/or death of a loved one through phone calls, counseling sessions and group support. This person will serve as a resource on psychosocial issues related to coping with a serious illness or grief for other hospice staff and members of our community. They will provide grief in the workplace assistance and other education to community agencies and businesses who are dealing with issues related to serious illness or grief as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in a counseling field and/or social work is required. Must hold and maintain an active, unrestricted license, such Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC or LPCC) Licensed Social Worker (LCSW or CSWC), or Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT or MFTC) with the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) prior to first day of work if not already obtained at time of job offer. At least one (1) year of experience in counseling and grief work. At least one (1) year of experience working with adults and older adults in a related setting. Valid Colorado driver's license, unlimited access to reliable transportation, and adequate automobile insurance maintained throughout employment. Able to work in a variety of environments.
COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS
Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office word processing and excel spreadsheets and functional ability in PowerPoint and Outlook Calendar. Proficient ability to learn and retain knowledge of EMR systems. Ability to fulfill job description tasks independently. Current CPR certification is maintained throughout employment. Communicate effectively with others, particularly with those experiencing difficult situations. Speaking in front of a group. Facilitation of groups of individuals and or teams. Time management.
Pay:
$34.34 - $39.00 per hour
