Clinician Shoreline Adult Services North Branford, CT - North Branford, CT 06471 Apply Overview Position Type Full Time Education Level Graduate Degree Category Nonprofit - Social Services Apply Clinician Provide Meaningful Care. Support Adult Recovery. BHcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinician to join our Adult Outpatient Clinic . In this role, you'll provide evidence‑based clinical services to adults with mental health and co‑occurring substance use needs while collaborating closely with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary treatment team. This position is ideal for clinicians who value integrated care, strong clinical collaboration, and making a measurable impact on adult recovery outcomes. The schedule does require to work Tuesday-Thursday until 8pm, with flexibility on the starting hours.
What You'll Do:
Clinical Care & Treatment Planning Serve as the primary clinician for an adult outpatient caseload Conduct intake assessments and psychosocial evaluations Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized recovery plans Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy tailored to client needs Integrated & Collaborative Care Demonstrate integrated dual disorders treatment (IDDT) competencies Collaborate with psychiatrists, hospital staff, and treatment team members on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning Serve as a liaison among clients, families, internal programs, and community resources Advocate for clients and assist with referrals and benefits coordination Crisis Intervention & Continuity of Care Provide emergency assessments and crisis intervention as needed Communicate effectively with emergency rooms and inpatient providers Support smooth transitions between levels of care Documentation, Productivity & Compliance Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment plans, authorizations, discharge summaries) Meet productivity expectations, maintaining 60% direct client service Obtain and manage insurance authorizations and re‑authorizations Maintain clinical records in compliance with payer, licensure, and organizational standards
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related mental health field Connecticut professional licensure required LCSW strongly preferred Will consider license‑eligible LMSW or other licensed clinicians (e.g., LPC) Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems Preferred Experience Clinical experience in an adult psychiatric and/or substance use treatment setting Experience working in outpatient or intensive outpatient programs Key Skills & Competencies Strong assessment, treatment planning, and psychotherapy skills Ability to manage a caseload and meet productivity expectations Effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams Strong written and verbal communication skills Commitment to ethical, client‑centered, and recovery‑oriented care Why Join BHcare?
