This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive mental health services, including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and case management, to diverse populations across outpatient (Children & Adults) for individual therapy, family therapy, and couples counseling. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality patient care through evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches. This position emphasizes collaboration, clinical excellence, and a compassionate approach to supporting individuals with various mental health challenges, including developmental disabilities, PTSD, and behavioral concerns. All services are delivered in a supportive environment that values professional growth and client-centered care. Individuals should have a comfort level with play and art therapy as well. Responsibilities Conduct thorough intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning utilizing ICD-10 coding standards for accurate documentation. Provide individual, and family counseling sessions employing modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis. Implement evidence-based interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, crisis management strategies, and behavior management techniques. Manage crisis situations effectively through de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention protocols while ensuring client safety and well-being. Maintain detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations; document patient care activities using appropriate medical terminology and ICD coding for billing purposes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management plans; coordinate care with medical providers when necessary for integrated treatment approaches. Engage in clinical research activities or data collection efforts to support program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives. Skills Proven expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; familiarity with CPT coding is a plus. Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms; comfortable adapting clinical skills to virtual environments while maintaining confidentiality and engagement. Excellent skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, behavior management, and patient assessment within outpatient or inpatient settings. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or chronic pain conditions; experience in special education or hospital environments is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health; understanding of HIPAA compliance for protected health information (PHI). Strong communication skills for articulating treatment plans clearly; capable of conducting intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations thoroughly.
