Job Description

Mental Health Therapist (Contractor) Hummingbird Counseling | DeLand, FL + Telehealth Grow Wild. Heal Deeply. Belong Fully. About Us Hummingbird Counseling is a woman-owned, trauma-informed group practice rooted in the belief that healing happens in spaces where people feel seen, accepted, and safe to be fully themselves. Our mission is to create a space of e mpowerment, authenticity, and belonging—where clients can explore their experiences without judgment and reconnect with their inherent worth and resilience. We specialize in working with individuals navigating trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity exploration. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and delivered with warmth, humility, and real human connection. Just as we care for our clients, we are equally committed to supporting our clinicians. We believe providers do their best work when they feel respected, supported, and free to show up as themselves. What You'll Do Provide individual therapy to adult clients across a range of concerns including trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship challenges, and life transitions Create and implement individualized, trauma-informed treatment plans Utilize evidence-based modalities Build strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust, empathy, and unconditional positive regard Maintain timely, accurate, and ethical documentation in SimplePractice Collaborate as needed with care teams, referral partners, or community supports Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to support clinical growth Who You Are Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field Active Florida license (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) Experience working with women/ individuals with SUD/ trauma-informed populations preferred Committed to culturally responsive, inclusive, and affirming care Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning Values authenticity, connection, and meeting clients where they are Able to work independently while maintaining professionalism and ethical standards What We Offer At Hummingbird Counseling, we intentionally remove barriers so you can focus on what matters most—your clients.
