- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of mental health professionals
- Conduct patient assessments to gather information on mental health history and current symptoms
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Assist with crisis management situations and provide support to patients in distress
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques to address specific behavioral goals
- Provide cognitive behavioral therapy interventions to patients as directed by mental health professionals
- Monitor and document patient progress, behaviors, and responses to treatment
- Assist with patient education and teach coping skills to promote self-management
Skills:
- Strong research skills to stay updated on the latest advancements in mental health care
- Excellent patient care skills, including empathy, active listening, and communication
- Knowledge of coding systems used in mental health documentation (e.g., ICD-10)
- Proficiency in conducting patient assessments and interpreting assessment results
- Experience in behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis
- Familiarity with working with patients who experience trauma is preferred
- Crisis management skills to effectively handle emergency situations
- Knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy principles and techniques
