Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outpatient Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive outpatient psychotherapy services to diverse client populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth through evidence-based practices. Responsibilities Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding standards to determine appropriate treatment plans. Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and art or dance therapy as appropriate. Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage crisis situations with professionalism and sensitivity, ensuring client safety and stabilization. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical ethical guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and evidence-based practices. Maintain accurate, detailed clinical documentation including progress notes, medical records, and treatment summaries in compliance with medical documentation standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management efforts for clients with co-occurring disorders or complex needs. Engage in ongoing research and data collection to enhance clinical outcomes and contribute to program development efforts. Qualifications Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure as required by state law (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT). Proven experience providing outpatient mental health counseling in clinical settings; inpatient or hospital experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic techniques including motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care (PTSD), grief counseling, addiction counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical terminology. Experience delivering telehealth therapy services using secure platforms; comfortable working in virtual environments. Ability to handle crisis management situations effectively while demonstrating excellent social work skills and emotional resilience. Knowledge of special populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with gender issues counseling is preferred. Strong commitment to ethical standards in clinical practice and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
