  • Peer Support Specialist (Part-Time) Position Summary The Peer Mentor will, through in-person or zoom meetings, interact with, teach and encourage individuals living with a mental health condition by creating an individualized plan to meet their goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Through in-person or zoom meetings, interact with, teach and encourage individuals living with a mental health condition by creating an individualized plan to meet their goals Promote problem solving and decision-making skills development; coping skills development; life/social skills development; independent living skills; employment and/or school success skills; functional community skills training Develop individualized strategies to support and maintain recovery Provide materials, information, education, linkage to community services and prevention messages in individual and/or group settings Promote recovery and resilience by sharing one's personal story and being a role model helping to promote hope, skill development, strength, stability and safety Work with individuals in one-on-one sessions in virtual and in-person settings Document sessions through case notes, complete time sheets and mileage reports, and other documentation as required by organization and funder(s) Participate in regular supervision and team meetings Attend ongoing training that will benefit program participants and their families Ability to maintain confidential information Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High School Diploma or equivalent Individual living successfully with a mental health issue; must be in sustained recovery Previous experience working with adults with mental/behavioral health conditions and their families Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire Must live in Miami-Dade County How to Apply Apply by emailing resume and cover letter to
