About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Crisis Counselor to join our team in an AHCA-licensed acute behavioral health unit. In this fast-paced role, you will assess individuals in crisis, determine eligibility for acute care admission, and coordinate smooth, safe transitions into our unit. What You'll Do Conduct crisis assessments and determine the appropriate level of care Facilitate admissions, including required documentation and authorizations Collaborate with medical, nursing, and behavioral health teams for safe patient transitions Maintain compliance with AHCA regulations and HIPAA guidelines Communicate effectively with referral sources, clients, and families What We're Looking For Bachelor's in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related Minimum 1 year of work in a mental health or related field (per Aspen regulations) Knowledge of AHCA admission criteria, Baker Act, and crisis stabilization best practices Strong communication, assessment, and de-escalation skills
