New Horizons of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee is the region's most comprehensive mental health and substance use recovery agency, with nine facilities across four counties serving 14,000 children and adults annually, regardless of their ability to pay. New Horizons of the Treasure Coast was created in 1958 by community members who passionately believed that quality mental health services should be available to all in need on the Treasure Coast. From its first location in Ft. Pierce, New Horizons has expanded to serve residents in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie Counties, with its main campus on Midway Road in Fort Pierce. We are seeking a caring and compassionate Mental Health Practitioner to provide treatment and service coordination for clients at our FACT north office. They will be responsible to carry out rehabilitation and support functions and assist in treatment; substance abuse services; education, support, and consultation to families; and crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees. As a Mental Health Practitioner , your responsibilities will include: assume primary responsibility for developing, writing, implementing, evaluating, and revising overall recovery goals and plans in conjunction with the ITT (Individual treatment team) Make appropriate changes in treatment plans to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions are provided in response to changes in mental status or behavior which put members at risk Provides individual vocational-supportive counseling to enable members to identify vocational strengths and problems, establish vocational or career goals and plans to reach them, and recognize and target symptoms of mental illness that interfere with work Provides individual supportive therapy (e.g., problem solving, role-playing, modeling and support), social-skill development, and assertiveness training to increase member social and interpersonal activities in community settings. Prepares written documentation for each service conducted. Performs other duties as requested.Requirements:
Master's degree in a behavioral science, Social Work , or Counseling Experience with adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses or with individuals with similar human-services needs. Must pass Level 2 Background through DCF and AHCA Clearinghouse.
