Job Description

Florida Registered Interns in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Clinical Social Work are invited to apply to join our growing team of school-based counselors across Florida. Since 2013, our school counseling program has provided individual and group counseling in both parochial and secular private schools, serving students from preschool through 12th grade. The program is operated through Lutheran Counseling Services (LCS) , a trusted mental health provider in Central Florida for more than 30 years. We are seeking motivated, relationship-driven, and creative counselors who are passionate about supporting students, their families, and school staff. Previous experience working in a school setting is highly preferred. We are hiring a Registered Intern in any of the three disciplines (Mental Health, Marriage & Family, or Social Work) to serve at one private school in the Tampa Bay Area. Qualifications Passion for working with children in a school environment Reliable transportation Master's degree from an accredited college/university Active Florida Registered Intern status (MHC, MFT, or CSW) with the Department of Health Professional liability insurance (minimum $1,000,000 per incident / $3,000,000 aggregate) Availability August 2026 - May 2027 (10-month contract) Experience with Zoom, Google Drive, and Apple products is helpful Responsibilities Be present on campus two days a week Provide individual and group counseling to students Conduct classroom psycho-educational presentations Assist with on-campus school and personal crises Support and uphold the mission of LCS Use TherapyNotes for all documentation, including intakes, treatment plans, and progress notes Meet regularly with LCS Clinical Supervisor and Program Supervisor Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions Job Benefits $26 per hour compensation Free clinical supervision provided by a Florida-qualified LCS supervisor Opportunity to build a private caseload (children, adults, couples, families) through LCS offices or telehealth, with billing and scheduling support included Contract renewal opportunities each academic year Ongoing clinical and professional development, including networking and continuing education All clinicians will have a promotional page on ZocDoc for increased visibility for new clients.
