Mental Health Counselor Tangu Recovery & Wellnesss Atlanta, GA Job Details Full-time $55,000 - $60,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Flexible schedule Qualifications Individual therapy HIPAA Outpatient experience Master's degree Organizational skills Master's degree in mental health counseling Master's degree in counseling Full Job Description Mental Health Counselor- Tangu Wellness Job Summary The Mental Health Counselor provides direct clinical services to clients participating in Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs for mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. This role includes assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, and coordination of care to support recovery, stabilization, and improved functioning. This is an in-person role with a start date of 8/24/26. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments , including mental health and substance use evaluations Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, MI, trauma-informed care) Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups relevant to PHP/IOP programming Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as needed Perform crisis intervention , risk assessments, and safety planning when necessary Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, etc.) Coordinate care with external providers, referral sources, and community resources Provide discharge planning and aftercare recommendations Ensure compliance with HIPAA , state regulations, and program policies Qualifications Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Experience working with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders preferred Knowledge of PHP/IOP level of care and treatment modalities Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment Preferred Skills Experience facilitating group therapy in structured programs Familiarity with evidence-based approaches (CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing) Experience facilitating individual sessions Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems Work Environment & Schedule Clinical setting in a PHP/IOP program- in person Monday- Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Combination of individual sessions, group facilitation, and administrative responsibilities Compensation & Benefits (customize as needed) Competitive salary based on experience Health insurance Paid time off and holidays Continuing education and licensure support Supervision (if applicable for associate-level clinicians)
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
