  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly qualified Master level Graduate or Higher Child and Adolescent Specialist to provide comprehensive mental health and behavioral support to children and adolescents.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced training in child and family counseling, behavioral therapy, and mental health assessment, with a strong commitment to improving the well-being of young individuals with diverse needs. This role involves delivering evidence-based interventions, conducting diagnostic evaluations, and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams to foster positive developmental outcomes. Duties Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents presenting with mental health, behavioral, or developmental concerns. Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, art therapy, and other evidence-based approaches. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions aimed at addressing issues such as trauma (including PTSD), autism spectrum disorder, gender identity concerns, and behavioral management. Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or behavioral crises. Collect and document medical records, progress notes, and treatment data in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and accuracy. Collaborate with case management teams to coordinate care plans that include community resources, special education services, and home-based care when appropriate. Engage in ongoing professional development related to behavioral health techniques, medical terminology, and current best practices in child and adolescent mental health care. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to motivate clients toward positive change while respecting their individual circumstances and cultural backgrounds. Skills Extensive experience working with children and adolescents in clinical or community settings with a focus on mental health or behavioral interventions. Proficiency in data collection, medical documentation, and maintaining detailed medical records aligned with HIPAA standards. Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), crisis management, and conflict resolution strategies. Familiarity with addiction counseling, trauma-informed care including PTSD management, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder. Ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments including intake procedures, diagnostic evaluations, and case management planning. Expertise in group therapy facilitation, behavior management techniques, gender issues counseling, and special education collaboration. Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, families, multidisciplinary teams, and community stakeholders.
