NA Position Summary:
The therapist plays a critical role in the delivery of care and is responsible for developing rapport with clients in an effort to effectively assess, address and treat substance abuse disorders. The therapist is responsible for helping clients address issues related to family dynamics, self-esteem, etc. through individual, group and family therapy, and for connecting clients to needed services that are not offered in our program. The therapist will deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, supporting clients in their recovery journey, and promoting long-term wellness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide individual sessions to clients enrolled in the program as well as any case management needs they may have. Conduct thorough assessments and develop personalized treatment plans for clients. Facilitate family therapy sessions to engage family members in the recovery process, as appropriate. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with facility policies and confidentiality laws (HIPAA). Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including counselors, nurses, and doctors, to create comprehensive treatment plans. Monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Educate clients on coping strategies, relapse prevention, and stress management. Provide crisis intervention as needed and refer clients to additional resources or higher levels of care when appropriate. Ensure that all therapeutic practices align with the ethical standards and regulations of the facility and state laws. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities. Attend and contribute to team meetings, case consultations, and supervision sessions.
Qualifications:
One of the following: Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field. Current LPC, LMFT, LMSW or LCSW in Georgia preferred. Certification in substance abuse counseling
Experience:
At least two years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse field, preferably in a substance abuse or mental health setting or a graduate level practicum in mental health/substance abuse, preferred. Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders is highly desirable.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Knowledge of substance abuse treatment models and techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and 12-step facilitation. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored treatment plans. Crisis management skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite. High level of emotional intelligence, patience, and resilience in the face of challenging client situations.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
