Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic Clinical Team Leader for Youth Services to lead and grow our community based youth services and school based therapy programs. The Clinical Youth Services Team Leader assists the Director of Clinical and Community Services with all aspects of community-based clinical services and home- and family-based services for youth and young adults. This includes school-based therapy; clinical assessment and evaluation; program planning; monitoring and assessment; evaluation of member and family needs/services; member, family, and system advocacy; and hiring, training, and supervising staff. Oversee all operational aspects of KEY and Youth Services, including the recording and reporting of data, implementation of policies and procedures, implementation and monitoring of standards, coordination of consumer casework and staffing systems, and facilitating and monitoring department communications. Assist in the hiring, supervising and evaluation of all KEY and Youth Services staff, and to identify training needs and coordinate training for all staff. Assist KEY and Youth Services staff in developing mediation and intervention strategies; to mediate conflicts between staff and service providers, individual, and/or parents relative to individual needs. Participate in agency, provider, and statewide committees dealing with and /or related to individual/family services, school mental health services and/or the development of these services for youth and families. Monitor agency outcomes, and assist staff in meeting, tracking and documenting agency outcomes. Directly provide or supervise others to: Provide assessment, observation, and standardized testing. Evaluate clients presenting functioning utilizing a strengths-based approach that prioritizes family voices and opinions in relentless pursuit of quality therapeutic engagement. Perform clinical assessments and develop coordinated treatment plans within the electronic medical record. Conduct assessments required for other CSA programs. Advocate for whole person health of clients, serving as a point of integration with other services, internal and external to CSA. Encourage clients to express their feelings and develop insight into themselves and their relationships. Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for improving their functioning and reaching their goals. Monitor clients' use and/or need for psychotropic medications. Refer clients to medication provider if appropriate. Conduct individual, family, and group sessions utilizing current evidence based treatments and assessments. Sessions may be in person or via electronic video conferencing. As appropriate assist family members to assist them in understanding and supporting clients' mental health needs. Collaborate with the Department of Health and Human Services, schools, probation officers, and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process. Modify treatment activities and approaches regularly in order to comply with changes in clients' status. Evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutics approaches and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards agreed upon objectives. Prepare and maintain all required clinical documentation, reports, and ancillary documentation for complete client record in accordance with CSA policy. Act as advocates in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations, following standard operating procedures. Refer clients to community resources or to specialists as necessary. Learn about new developments in the mental health field by reading professional literature, attending continuing education opportunities, and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies. Maintain professional licensure by following CEU requirements. Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be utilized in conjunction with therapy. Provide and coordinate emergency backup coverage in the absence of the assigned program staff. Coordinate, compile and distribute quality assurance, file audits, program evaluation, and consumer satisfaction data in accordance with agency requirements, and state and regulatory bodies, and funding streams. Supervisory Responsibilities The Community Based Clinical Youth Services Team Leader is directly responsible to and supervised by the Director of Community Services. The Clinical Youth Services Team Leader assists in supervising the Clinical, KEY and Youth Services staff, and collaborates with the other Clinical and Community Based Services Leaders in order to meet the needs of all Community Based Service recipients. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. This person must qualify with the company's underwriter as an insurable driver and possess legal driving privileges in the State of Iowa. This person must possess the ability to: work alone and with limited supervision, manage time effectively to meet deadlines, review multiple standards, interpret information and be detail oriented. The individual must clear annual background checks including, but not limited to, criminal, abuse and Office of Inspector General. Must comply with accepted professional standards and nursing practice. Education and/or Experience An advanced (master's or doctorate) degree in one of the fields of psychology, counseling, mental health, or social work is required. Licensure to practice mental health in the state of Iowa (LISW, LMHC, LMFT, or Psychologist) and experience working with children, adolescents, and adult clients is preferred, or have the ability to be independently licensed within 2 years of qualified supervision. At least 1 year of experience supervision others is preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations License to practice mental health in the state of Iowa (LISW, LMHC, LMFT, or Psychologist) or have the ability to be independently licensed within 2 years of qualified supervision
