Job Summary At New Start Counseling and Consulting, our mission is to empower individuals and families affected by mental health and substance use challenges. We provide compassionate, evidence-based counseling services to foster healing, resilience, and personal growth. We are seeking passionate and dedicated Counselors and Therapists holding licenses such as LMSW, LCSW, LCPC, LPC, LMFT, or MSW to join our mental health and or co-occurring team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive clinical services to diverse populations across outpatient, settings. Your expertise will help individuals and families navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. Responsibilities Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine appropriate treatment plans. Provide evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and other specialized approaches tailored to client needs. Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to support clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies or co-occurring disorders. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on issues such as grief, addiction, PTSD, gender identity, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, chronic pain management, and special education needs. Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation according to HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines while ensuring medical records are complete and up-to-date. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management efforts to coordinate care for clients with complex mental health or medical conditions. Skills Extensive experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral management, art therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and evidence-based practices. Proficiency in crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols for immediate client stabilization. Strong working knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation. Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities—and those with co-occurring disorders. Familiarity with medical terminology related to mental health conditions and patient assessment procedures. Skills in case management, patient care planning, behavioral health interventions, grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, chronic pain counseling, and gender issues counseling. Demonstrated ability to adhere to clinical documentation standards and participate in clinical research initiatives when applicable. $33.00 - $42.00 per hour
