Mills Development & Consulting LLC is recruiting on behalf of a community-based client seeking a compassionate, organized, and resourceful Family Support & Engagement Specialist to support children and families participating in a grant-funded community initiative. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about strengthening families, connecting individuals to community resources, and helping children thrive through supportive, trauma-informed services. Position Summary The Family Support & Engagement Specialist serves as the primary connection between participating families and program services. This position provides case management, family engagement, resource navigation, and ongoing support to help families overcome barriers, strengthen protective factors, and access resources that promote long-term stability and well-being. Primary Responsibilities Family Engagement & Support Serve as the primary point of contact for participating children and families. Build trusting, supportive relationships through consistent communication. Conduct participant intake, family assessments, and orientations. Develop and monitor individualized family support plans. Maintain regular follow-up with families to encourage participation and progress. Case Management & Resource Navigation Connect families to community resources, including housing, food assistance, employment services, childcare, behavioral health, domestic violence services, and other supportive programs. Coordinate referrals with community partners and service providers. Follow up on referrals to ensure families successfully access services. Maintain accurate, confidential case documentation and participant records. Parent & Community Engagement Coordinate and facilitate parent workshops and family engagement activities. Assist with community outreach and participant recruitment efforts. Support community events, resource fairs, and family-focused activities. Coordinate participant incentives, transportation assistance, and meal distribution as needed. Program Support Track participant attendance and engagement. Assist with surveys, assessments, and outcome data collection. Maintain organized participant files and documentation. Support program implementation and special projects. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuous quality improvement activities. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Family Services, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two years of experience working with children, families, or community-based programs. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of community resources and referral networks. Ability to build positive relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Experience working in trauma-informed, violence prevention, or family support settings is preferred. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
