Overview Shift:
Full Time, 5:30 PM•2:00 AM Join our team at the Robert Young Center as a Mobile Crisis Clinician. The Mobile Crisis Responder will be part of a mobile crisis team providing crisis assessment and evaluation in the community. This role may include co-responding with law enforcement and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including days, nights, and weekends. Responsibilities include assessing risk, including suicidal ideation and lethality, and determining appropriate level of care. The Mobile Crisis Responder will provide referrals, support case planning for clients and families, and ensure timely and accurate documentation of all services provided. Why UnityPoint Health? Responsibilities + Implements Trauma Informed Care ( TIC ) while completing in-depth mental health and substance use assessments and formulating diagnoses for individuals in crisis. + Conducts comprehensive mental health and substance use evaluations for clients presenting in crisis situations. + Contacts physicians, providers, and emergency departments to support disposition recommendations and ensures accurate documentation in the medical record. + Provides direct clinical services including evaluation, counseling, education, and development of treatment plans for individuals, families, and support systems. + Delivers substance use assessment, intervention, individual and group counseling, and recovery-focused education and consultation services. + Provides case management and care coordination, including referrals, locating treatment facilities, insurance authorization support, and collaboration with internal and external providers. + Participates in on-call rotation for nights and weekends to ensure 24/7 coverage and maintains compliance with all regulatory and agency standards while ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
Qualifications Education:
+ Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related human services field required
Experience:
+ 2 years preferred in mental health or substance use services, or equivalent experience + Knowledge of assessments, crisis intervention, and suicide risk/lethality evaluation + Ability to work with diverse populations in fast-paced, high-stress settings + Specialized mental health or psychiatric training preferred License(s)/Certification(s): + Valid driver's license required + Knowledge of
HIPAA , 42 C.F.R.
