Family Support Specialist EveryChild - 4.7 Rock Island, IL Job Details Full-time From $41,213 a year 19 hours ago Benefits Mileage reimbursement Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance Flexible schedule Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications French Spanish Nursing Maintaining patient confidentiality Driver's License Social Work Full Job Description Job Overview The Family Support Specialist (FSS) is responsible for the provision of curricula driven home visitation services, information regarding child development and parent-child interaction to enrolled families, including high-risk and the emerging immigrant and refugee populations within Rock Island County. Responsible for assisting and supporting families in goal setting and progressing toward increased familial wellness. Duties Provide parenting support services to assigned families (i.e. develop and carry out service plans with enrolled families). Provide Home Visitation Parenting Support services to families primarily in-person; with utilization of telework and/or virtual platforms as warranted. Services are to occur primarily within normal business hours; however, a few evening and/or weekend hours maybe required. Conduct community and organizational outreach toward program participant recruitment. Assist families with information and referral linkages to community resources, as needed. Participate in agency and staff professional development activities. Facilitate and/or support parent groups, as needed. Assist with program participant screening and assessment, as needed. Maintain complete and accurate required documentation to include use of both paper charts and programmatic databases. Complete required data entry and documentation within established required time frames. Successfully complete all mandatory and assigned training. Attend and complete any other recommended training. Maintain personnel records (i.e. time sheet and mileage/expense reports) Attend scheduled EveryChild staff meetings and HFI team meetings Assist in general EveryChild planning, public activities, and fundraising as appropriate
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Child Development, Nursing, Education, or related field - preferred. Willing to engage in building reflective capacity (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing value of supervision, etc.). Knowledge of health, social and environmental issues affecting the community, including diverse ethnic populations. Experience and humility to work with culturally diverse families. Knowledge of infant and child growth and development and family dynamics. Experience in working with or providing services to children and families. Ability to establish trusting relationships and accept individual differences. Have knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs Good written and verbal communication skills. Must maintain confidentiality standards. Must be willing to work some flexible hours, as needed. Must be able to attend out of town, overnight training as warranted. Must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and provide own transportation Must comply with EveryChild's requirements for routine engagement of consumers. This will include the receipt of and maintaining as up-to-date (as warranted or required) TB testing, MMR, Hep B, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Influenza (annual renewal required) and TDaP immunizations/vaccinations. In instances of exception or exclusion, waiver must be provided and completed substantiating same.
Note:
no waivers (pending medical indication) available or accepted for the influenza and TB vaccination requirements. Exclusions from receipt of Influenza vaccination must be provided by the employee's physician. Infant mental health endorsement - preferred Bi-lingual (English/French) (English/Spanish), a plus.

Salary:
