Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center is dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We are the only facility of our kind in Central Illinois. We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders. Identify, document and prioritize mental/medical problems, including the need for detoxification as appropriate. Obtains and completes admission orders from physician. Transcribes and notes Doctor's Orders. Initiate Close Observation (CO) forms. Document patient information and nursing care in the provision of nursing services. Report any signs or symptoms of infection in patients to the Infection Control Nurse. Verify the accuracy of patient records. Utilize appropriate interventions in psychiatric and medical emergencies by employing principles of communication, interviewing techniques, problem solving, and crisis intervention when performing psychotherapeutic interventions. Intervention is based on knowledge of psychiatric and medical nursing procedures, as well as the plan of care. Receive referral calls, obtain minimal demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment. Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office staff to begin the verification of benefits, initiating calls to physicians and other related tasks as directed by the Case Manager. Assist in obtaining needed records and information.

Coordinator as indicated. Process all requests for information and external referrals. Completes pre-certifications as needed. Determine what Releases of Information are needed, and process them accordingly, per policy. Arrange disposition and community resources. Communicate with the designated Treatment Establishes and maintains effective relationships with patients, families, Utilization Review, Business Office, and other staff, practicing good standards of customer service. Maintain all statistics; provide support to the Outcome Study, and other data, as assigned. Maintains log of received calls and disposition of the calls, and other informational tools as assigned Maintain knowledge of the rules, protocols and handbooks guidelines for both Child Program and Adolescent Program.
Requirements:
Strong clinical assessment skills with majority of experience focused on the child/adolescent population
Education:
Master's Degree in a mental health/human services field from an accredited college (counseling, social work, psychology), or
Registered Nurse License Experience:
Two (2) years' experience desired, preferably in a behavioral health care facility, with direct experience in individual, family and group therapies, crisis intervention and treatment. Experience working with the child/adolescent population
Licensure/Certification:
LCSW/LCPC
preferred, or RN.
