Job Description

Licensed Mental Health Counselor Bloomington, Indiana Full-Time At Small Talk Pediatric Therapy, we believe growth happens through connection, creativity, and compassion. Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to helping children and families find their voice in every sense of the word emotionally, socially, developmentally, and beyond. As we expand into Bloomington with our brand-new clinic location, we are looking for a passionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our growing team. While we may be new to the Bloomington community, we are not new to pediatric therapy. Our experienced team is committed to providing high-quality, collaborative, and child-centered care in an environment where both families and clinicians feel supported. If you are passionate about helping children thrive emotionally and behaviorally while working alongside a collaborative and purpose-driven team, this could be the perfect fit. What You'll Do Conduct compassionate and developmentally appropriate assessments to understand each child's unique emotional, behavioral, and social needs Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that foster emotional regulation, confidence, coping skills, and healthy relationships Provide individual and small-group counseling using evidence-based, child-centered therapeutic approaches Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members including speech, occupational, and physical therapists Support children with developmental differences, behavioral challenges, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and social difficulties Provide crisis intervention and behavior support with professionalism, empathy, and calm guidance Educate and empower families with tools and strategies that support progress beyond the clinic setting Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with ethical and professional standards Participate in team collaboration, care planning, community outreach, and clinic growth initiatives Help create a warm, playful, safe, and encouraging environment where children feel seen, valued, and supported What We're Looking For Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of Indiana Experience working with children and families preferred Experience supporting children with developmental differences, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, behavioral challenges, or sensory needs is a plus Strong understanding of child development, behavioral health, and family-centered care Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills Ability to create a therapeutic environment that is engaging, nurturing, and emotionally safe A compassionate, positive, and adaptable mindset Someone who believes therapy should feel hopeful, empowering, and meaningful Why Join Small Talk Pediatric Therapy?
