Health Promotion at IU-Bloomington supports student success through a holistic and integrated approach to wellbeing. Health Promotion provides a broad range of prevention, education, and intervention services grounded in evidence-based practices, assessment, and evaluation. Core service areas include Substance Use Intervention Services, a Collegiate Recovery Community, Nutrition Services, and Health Education and Outreach, which offers workshops on topics such as mental health, sexual health education, hazing prevention, and alcohol and other drugs prevention. Together, these programs advance student wellbeing and contribute to a healthier, more thriving campus community. Job Summary This role involves the supervision and delivery of clinical mental health and substance use services to students. Clinical services include:
individual, group, and crisis counseling to both mandated and self-referred students addressing substance use concerns and/or substance use conduct violations. Supervisory services include the supervision of clinical student interns and professional staff. This role collaborates with other members of the department's multi-disciplinary staff. Department-Specific Responsibilities Conducts individual intake assessments. Provides direct clinical mental health and substance use services to individuals and groups. Maintains accurate, timely clinical notes. Adheres to relevant ethical and legal standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), relevant professional bodies, and state boards. Consults with and refers to other professionals when appropriate. Utilizes evidence-based clinical interventions and, as appropriate, document in clinical notes. Supervise Master's level mental health students and/or career-level Mental Health Specialists. Possesses ability and competencies to act independently, as a licensed mental health professional, in the provision of clinical services. Qualifications EDUCATION
Required Master's degree in relevant mental health area from an accredited program. WORK EXPERIENCE
Required 4 years of post-degree experience. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Required Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Indiana or license eligible upon date of hire. OR Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Indiana or license eligible upon date of hire. OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Indiana or license eligible upon date of hire. SKILLS Required Proficient communication skills. Maintains a high degree of professionalism. Working Conditions / Demands This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation. Additional Information This is a temporary position. Duration is dependent on department needs; end date to be determined. Work Location Bloomington, Indiana. This is an in-person position.
