POSITION OVERVIEW
Professionals in this position serve as an Individual Contractor, rendering services to youth, adults, families and couples. The Mental Health Professional is responsible for the delivery of individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy as well as provide psychotherapy for children (ages 3-18) and their caregivers.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education and/or
Experience:
Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Marital and Family Counseling, Social Work, or another closely related field. Must be a Licensed or Licensed Eligible. Specialized Training, Certifications, and/or
Other Special Requirements:
Mental Health Professionals must be available to maintain a minimum caseload of 12 clients. Must have experience and a passion for providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Mental Health Professional must establish and maintain a working alliance with parents, youth, referral sources, schools, and individual adult clients. Mental Health professional will implement interventions for the treatment of daily life functioning, trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, relational concerns and other diagnostic criteria. Mental Health Professional must be able to actively listen and use basic problem solving skills; effectively support and facilitate positive coping skills and mindfulness; evaluate the present functioning of clients; work independently and cooperatively as part of a treatment team; use a positive, strengths-based approach in working with individuals and families; relate sensitively and non-judgmentally to clients; recognize and record significant individual and family behaviors; participate in reflective supervision/consultation to support relationships with the client's progress; excellent verbal and written communication skills; outstanding critical thinking and creative problem solving skills; ability to work independently; high level of initiative; professional demeanor; excellent public, employee and customer relation skills. Mental Health Professional must demonstrates excellent customer service, even under adverse conditions, and has a track record of making sound decisions, managing multiple priorities with appropriate prioritizing, and has the ability to effectively communicate. Mental Health Professional must have knowledge, skill and ability with utilizing the Microsoft Windows Package. Mental Health Professional must be able to complete required paperwork in a timely manner with detailed organizational skills and effective time management.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
Conducts clinical interviews and intakes, developing diagnoses under the direct supervision of a Licensed Psychologist. Participates in developing person/family centered treatment plans with individuals, families, and groups. Monitors client progress and coordinates appropriate mental health and other needed services. Responsible for maintaining an electronic and paper chart which includes required documentation of services provided, progress notes, treatment plans, periodic reviews and client rights documents. Participates in individual clinical and reflective supervision to review progress, identify barriers, reflect on work with clients and develop strategies for better assisting individuals, families, and groups in reaching treatment goals. Conducts treatment plan reviews to ensure clients receive all appropriate services within a reasonable timetable. Assures operational integration of clinical functions to achieve program success, high customer satisfaction, excellent patient care and safe operations. Responsible for clinical documentation and record keeping. Monitors quality assessment and performance improvement activities. Provides coordination, consultation, and assistance in pursuing quality goals. These services involve face-to-face encounters intended to reduce counterproductive behaviors and functioning, to restore the recipient to their best possible functioning level. These services primarily include direct hands-on treatment with individuals, families and groups. Carries a caseload of clients within diverse socio-economic, ethnic, ability, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion and racial demographics and clinical needs.
