Community Support Associate/ Peer Support Specialist

Responsibilities Offer empathetic peer support and mentorship to individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral challenges. Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for all involved. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior change and recovery goals. Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care plans and document interactions using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Assist clients in developing coping strategies, social skills, and relapse prevention techniques related to addiction counseling or behavioral health needs. Provide education on mental health topics, substance use issues, and available community resources. Maintain clear, detailed records of client interactions, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with privacy regulations. Experience Prior experience in social work, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, or related fields is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability in crisis intervention and crisis management with a calm, proactive approach. Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles, motivational interviewing techniques, and social support strategies. Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations. Experience mentoring or guiding individuals through recovery or behavioral change processes is a plus.
