Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Community Support Associate / Peer Support Specialist, where your passion for mental health and behavioral wellness will make a meaningful difference in people's lives. In this role, you will provide compassionate peer support, crisis intervention, and behavioral health guidance to individuals navigating mental health challenges, addiction recovery, or social difficulties. Your energetic approach will foster a supportive environment that promotes resilience, recovery, and hope. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to empower others while developing your skills in mental health counseling and crisis management. Responsibilities Offer empathetic peer support and mentorship to individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral challenges. Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for all involved. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior change and recovery goals. Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care plans and document interactions using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Assist clients in developing coping strategies, social skills, and relapse prevention techniques related to addiction counseling or behavioral health needs. Provide education on mental health topics, substance use issues, and available community resources. Maintain clear, detailed records of client interactions, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with privacy regulations. Experience Prior experience in social work, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, or related fields is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability in crisis intervention and crisis management with a calm, proactive approach. Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles, motivational interviewing techniques, and social support strategies. Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations. Experience mentoring or guiding individuals through recovery or behavioral change processes is a plus.
