In this vital role, you will serve as a compassionate guide and mentor for adults navigating mental health, addiction recovery, and behavioral challenges. Your lived experience will empower others to find hope, resilience, and stability. By providing peer-led support, crisis intervention, and motivational encouragement, you will help individuals achieve their recovery goals and improve their overall well-being. Duties Offer empathetic peer support to adults experiencing mental health or substance use issues, fostering a safe and trusting environment Assist individuals during crises through crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies Provide guidance on behavioral health topics, including addiction counseling and mental health counseling approaches Utilize motivational interviewing skills to encourage positive change and goal setting Mentor clients by sharing personal recovery experiences and promoting self-advocacy Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care plans using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation Support clients in developing coping skills, connecting to community resources, and navigating social services Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with agency policies Qualifications Lived experience with mental health challenges or addiction recovery is highly valued Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and social work practices Experience with mental health counseling or addiction counseling preferred Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to motivate others toward positive change Proficiency in motivational interviewing methods to facilitate client engagement Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional in high-pressure situations Join us in making a lasting impact by empowering adults on their journey toward recovery.
