May lift items up to 25 lbs on occasion. Shift Monday - Friday, Day Shift; primarily 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (40 hrs/wk); other hours as needed Job Summary The Behavioral Health Counselor will provide direct clinical counseling to help patients deal with various personal, social, and mental health issues, such as depression, unemployment, domestic abuse, and illness, through individual, family and group counseling. This individual will work closely with the providers to provide patients and families with a comprehensive mental health evaluation and treatment plan. The BHC will provide timely and effective support to patients facing mental health emergencies using evidence-based screening tools, risk assessments, and clinical interventions for children and adolescents. The BHC will help patients cope with suicidal behaviors by safety planning, minimizing stressors, offering emotional support, and improving coping strategies during crisis situations.

/ Abilities None Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Prefer candidate have experience working with patients with developmental disabilities. Previous work experience providing clinical mental health assessments, counseling, case management and/or social services.
